things learned today

whilst walking to and from my lunch with dustin today, i discovered many a thing:

1. when really cool music plays on a speaker outside of a restaurant, it feels like it's your own soundtrack, and you are in a movie. (today's was some nifty forties jazz, which made it feel like a woody allen movie.)

2. when sirens go (as they do at 1 p.m. on the first wed. of each month), people on the street will look up and around in utter confusion. jokes will be made about everything from tornado warnings to the end of the world. (i prefer the latter, those are just more fun.)

3. if you put on tights in the morning and you realize that they are your size, except you accidentally bought petite (and you happen to be five foot eleven), don't wear them anyways. you will end up walking in downtown with the fear that they are going to fall down. and when you are a block from your office restroom, they will. i'm just sayin'.

4. cilantro, no matter how benign it seems, will still make you nauseous in even the smallest increments.

5. really nauseaous. i kind of want to throw up now, actually.

1. SO...FREAKING...TRUE. Now, if only I could find a way to walk in slow motion in real life, I WOULD BE SUCH THE BOMB.
